Design is moving.

I’m beginning to see that the moving process is surprisingly similar to the design process. And as Miles Design prepares to move to a new location at the Precedent office park, I’m feeling what many of our clients probably feel when they begin the design process. Here’s what I mean…

Much like the design process, preparing to move has revealed stages of progress: planning, budgeting, imagining alternatives, research, looking through options, choosing a solution, and then best planning how that solution will grow with us in the future.

As excited as we are to move, I think the process is almost as exciting as the end result. In fact, these various stages are where I see clients get excited too. When a product name or logo is first unveiled or when an idea is presented that shifts how the company looks at their business, it can be just as exciting as the final printed piece.

So more than anything, it has been interesting for us to see this process from the “other side” as we eagerly await each step, and we are excited to see what’s next.
